But if you are creating ESL lesson plans for adults, the pace should be slower and more even. Here is a clearer example of a very basic childrens ESL lesson plan. First, I start out the lesson with a quick, hello class.
They are required to respond, hello, Bill. This simple greeting lets the students know that it is now class time. All rules that are present during class are now observed. Its time to get to work.
It is best to begin any ESL lesson plan whether you are teaching children or adults with some kind of warm up exercise.
This gets everyone into the whole thinking in English mode. For children this could be a quick game or some kind. Perhaps a word association game.
I say blue and they say color. I say cat and they say dog. Just anything to wake them up. With adults maybe just asking them what they did that day.
